Surface Area
- Tech Boat stands are designed to disburse the stabilizing weight over an X square foot area. To ensure proper stabilization a solid, hard surface is required.
Placement
*** Boat stands should not exceed a span of 10 feet.
***Minimize thread exposure as much as possible.
- The center pipe and threaded rod should be as close to 90° as possible.
- Place the poly coated stand tops on a flat surface as to the outboard as possible.
- Place one stand *at most* every 10 feet on both the port and starboard side.
- Forward stands should be slightly higher to allow drainage.
Safety chains
- All sail boat stands require a safety chain (from port to starboard).
- Ensure the safety chain snug.
- After safety chain is snug and boat stands are properly positioned, raise the boat stand tops by turning the handle on the threaded rod to meet the boat.
- In areas of harsh weather, a safety chain should be used on all boat stands.
